Common issues
If your kit isn't working, don't worry. It's usually something small that can be easily fixed with a little effort and curiosity.
- Wiring: Double check that all of your jumper wires are exactly where they should be. Being off by even 1 hole in the breadboard could cause parts of the circuit to fail, so really make sure that every single wire is in the correct place.
- Power: Is your kit receiving enough power to run? If so, you should see the LED blinking with the tempo. If the speaker is making music but the LED is not blinking, the LED may be installed backwards.
- Sunlight: Your kit uses a solar panel to provide power to the microcontroller and play music. If you're indoors, make sure to place the solar panel near a window that's exposed to direct sunlight. If it's overcast or cloudy, there may not be enough light to run opdo without some help (like placing a mirror to reflect more light onto the solar panel, or holding the solar panel very close to a bright desk lamp).
- Loose Connections: If a component is not fully inserted into the breadboard, it may not be fully making contact with connectors inside. Double check that all components (and connectors) and fully seated.
